Our pet tracker works great outdoors, but it’s equally effective indoors. By leveraging the smartest GPS technology, which connects via the internet (cellular network) to the app, your fur baby can’t escape our reach! Even when indoors and out of GPS range, our tracker features advanced WiFi positioning, giving you a highly accurate indoor location. And if all else fails, we use GSM triangulation (LBS) to estimate where your pet might be hiding.
How Our Trackers Work: A Quick Guide
GPS (Global Positioning System)
Accuracy: GPS provides the most accurate location, especially when your pet is outdoors. However, it may take some time to connect if it hasn’t been used recently.
Battery Conservation: To save battery life, the GPS signal will time out if it doesn’t connect within a certain period. The tracker will automatically request a new GPS location after the interval you’ve set, or you can manually request a location by pressing ‘locate.’
WiFi Positioning
When GPS Is Unavailable: If the tracker can’t connect to GPS, it will search for nearby WiFi signals. This method reports the location of the WiFi network the tracker connects to, not the tracker’s exact location.
Accuracy: The location accuracy ranges from 30 to 100 meters, depending on signal strength. The location marker will display ‘WiFi’ if this method is used. The WiFi location database is maintained by Google, so occasional inaccuracies can occur.
LBS (Location-Based Services)
Cell Tower Positioning: If both GPS and WiFi are unavailable, the tracker will connect to nearby cellphone towers to estimate a location.
Accuracy: This method is the least accurate, providing only a general area, indicated by ‘LBS’ in purple on the location label.
